The African American Performance Art Archive (the “Archive”), an affiliated site of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (“UNC”) is a service for compiling and displaying the artistic content of African American performance artists to be accessed by scholars, students and the general public. It is intended for non-commercial, educational and research use only (“Purpose”). By using this site, you agree to the following terms.

Permitted Uses

UNC invites you to make fair use of the works in the Archive as defined by United States copyright law. Visit the United States Copyright Office website for more information at http:www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html.

UNC also permits the reproduction and use of the works in the Archive for strictly non-commercial, personal, educational, and/or research purposes with proper citation to the source.

The works in the Archive may not be used for commercial purposes. Commercial purposes includes, but is not limited to, selling the works in the Archive, selling products or services which incorporate the works in the Archive, and using the works in the Archive in advertisements or promotions of products or services. To use the works beyond the Purpose of the Archive, you must obtain prior written authorization from the artist.

Disclaimer

UNC does not own the copyrights to the works in the Archive. The artists have licensed UNC to display their works in the Archive as a service to the general public and retain the copyrights to the works.
